Pullen Park Landscape Renovation
Richard Stanhope Pullen donated 66 acres of farmland that he owned to the City of Raleigh in 1887 to be used as the first public park in North Carolina. In 2009 we teamed with Little & Little Landscape Architects and Hager Smith Design (both of Raleigh) to renovate the park and add new buildings. The lake was emptied so the concrete perimeter could be repaired, a new building was added to house the restored carousel, tunnels and bridges were repaired, the train was restored, new playground equipment was added, and several other buildings were added to improve the function of the park. Pullen is by far the most popular park in Raleigh. It has become a must-visit for anyone living or visiting the area, regardless of age.
